Wonder and Imagination in Everyday Living. Sure, it’s a tag line, but I came to realize that it has been the driving force behind my love of design since I was a teenager with no idea that design could become anything more than a personal interest. It just makes sense that I choose the phrase to represent my brand. While a space always needs to meet its function, that does not mean it needs to be bland. In fact, inspiring Wonder and Imagination can be a function in and of itself!
My life long personal interest in design led me to obtain an MS in Interior Architecture + Design at Drexel University. I am inspired by design, architecture and art from around the world as well as by the design, patina and sense of age to be found in historic spaces and on vintage and antique pieces. I also continue to lovingly curate an extensive design library that I pair with first-hand travel experience to create interiors that inspire Wonder and Imagination in Everyday Living.

How do I define Wonder and Imagination in Everyday Living? I think the answer is personal for each one of us who chooses to include it in their space. For me designing an interior that inspires Wonder and Imagination in Everyday Living starts with a seed. That seed can be a memory or photograph from a time or place in your past, it can be a cherished or curious object, or it could be as simple as an idea of the story you want a space to tell. The design grows from there into a furniture layout and up into a three-dimensional design scheme before blossoming into a full-fledged interior.

Each bit of furniture, lighting element, piece of art or decorative object grows together with floor, wall and ceiling finishes to support the whole. When it comes to furniture, art and décor I love to include vintage and antique pieces along with sympathetic new items. They can be precious, but they can also be a random thrift store find if they support the overall design. I love to get creative with walls and ceilings, designing custom paint schemes and patterns on one or both. I can’t get enough of great wallpaper, or better yet of upholstering the wall in a great piece of fabric!
I firmly believe that the history of architecture and design from across the globe has a lot to teach us about different ways of designing and inhabiting a space. I love to travel and experience spaces firsthand, but I also love to collect books on architecture and design and use them to armchair travel across space and time in search of inspiration to support my work. From color and pattern to our use of light and paths of circulation, global culture offers so many unique examples and sources of inspiration for design.
